Just a note of the fond memories of Mr. Stedman. As a boy growing up in Marion I spent many hours on Main Street and at Planters Hardware. I well remember Mr. Stedman as I would buy small fishing supplies and cane poles. Mr. Stedman was never to busy to unlock the chain the chain that held the rifles and shotguns and allow me to handle the Remington Nylon "66" 22 calibure over and over again. It is ironic that this past Friday I rode through Marion to see where the fire was on Main Street several months back. To my dismay it was "The Planters Hardware" building and I immediately thought of Mr.
Stedman. The Byars Family and the Stedmans were such fixtures in Marion and it is with deep regret I express my sorrow at you loss.
