I met John in line voting many years ago and we became friends. He was a wonderful, warm/friendly man with a twinkle in his eyes. I have a group of friends (from my Bible study) that would Carol to him every Christmas, and he was a highlight of our evening. He will be truly missed.

I've missed you so much. I wish I could of been there. you were always there for me and my Children. You couldn't have been a better Father and Grandfather. I know they say blood is thicker than water, but with you that wasn't true. My heart aches at losing you but I know we will all be reunited one day. Until then John I love you. I miss you deeply. To the family and friends of Mr. Spear:

I express my sincerest condolences on his passing. Mr. Spear was serving as the President of the General Moultrie Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) when I began talking with him of my notional interest in joining. Had it not been for his warmth and genuine down-to-earth nature and seeing me though the application process, I doubt I would have followed through becoming a compatriot back in 2003. Though, I have lived in FL and abroad since 2005, I have maintained that chapter affiliation. Mr. Spear represented everything decent in a man and it was my honor to know him. Peace to you all as I know he will be dearly missed but not forgotten.
