John Thomas Owens Charleston - Mr. John Thomas Owens, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, died on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 12:00 Noon in The Palmetto Memorial Chapel, 1122 Morrison Drive, Charleston, SC 29403. He will be laid to rest in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC 29902 with Military Honors on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday evening, February 4, 2018, at the mortuary from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. He is survived by his loving son, Norman Hamilton; brother, Charles Owens; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews: Sarah Brown, Vera Manigault, Hattie Grant, Karen Owens and Charles Owens of Huntsville, AL, Alton and Laverne Permenter and Nathaniel Mishoe of Jacksonville, FL; grandnieces and nephews, Nathaniel and Ivon Brown and Marcus and Kevin Grant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanders and Elizabeth Green Owens; son, William Myers; and siblings: Bussey Owens, Mahalia Owens, Jessie Mae Chapman, Beula Owens, Walter Owens, Edward Owens and Richard Owens.
