John interviewed me in 1982. Bill Diggins put in a good word for me and I got the job as an associate attorney in John's firm. He was my mentor for 5 years. I was a lucky guy. He was always "Mr. Napier". A true gentlemen.

Dear Paul, John and Ann,
I only just heard of your dad's passing away last night. I'm so terribly sorry. He was a kind, dear man, and a part of my morning commutes with my dad and Paul for many years!I liked that he didn't talk to me like I was "just a kid." Saying prayers of comfort for you and your families.

John was a good friend and colleague of my father, Frank Whitcher. When I joined the profession, one of the lawyers I respected most and tried to emulate was John Napier. He represented everything that is good and honorable about the practice of law. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Napier was a customer of our restaurant. When we lost our business, I was 8 months pregnant with our first child. He gave us a card with $200. My husband and I were grateful. It took us 4 years, but we paid of all our creditors and did not file bankruptcy. He was an honorable and kind man. In our 34 year marriage we have taken time to help others, just as he helped us. Your family was truly blessed. Thank You. Mrs. Kathleen Mullen (Nana's Restaurant)

He was one of the most honorable lawyers I had the privilege of trying cases with and against. An honor to the profession.

John Napier, was a quiet hero. Over the decade I came to know him, I saw him deal with great love towards his ailing wife. His commitment towards his clients, friends and family were inspiring. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Both your parents were lovely people. Your Dad helped me with legal matters when my Dad was gravely ill. I will always be grateful. Again, my condolences.
