John Moore Obituary

John R. Moore JAMES ISLAND - John R. Moore, 76, of James Island, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015. He was born on December 28, 1938 in Charleston, SC, to the late Florrie (Rourk) and Lloyd L. Wightman. He graduated from James Island High School and served in the United States Navy. He was a retired electrician. John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Walsh Moore; 3 daughters, Laura Moore Clark of Walterboro, Lisa M. Dutton (Jeff) of Summerville, F. Joann Moore of Charleston; a brother, Kenneth Moore (Patricia) of North Augusta; 4 grandchildren, Roger D. "Trey" Baker, Ashley Lynn Early, and Steven J. Britton of Charleston, and Sabrina Rodriguez of Goose Creek; 3 great-grandchildren, Tristan Baker, Morgan Baker and Gadson Decena, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 1-2pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island Chapel, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher House, www.fisherhousecharleston.org or PO Box 829, Johns Island, SC 29457. Condolences may be viewed or submitted at www.mcalister-smith.com.
