John Moon Obituary

John E. Moon CHARLESTON - John Ethridge Moon, Jr., 70, of Charleston, husband of Vashti "Vicki" Moon, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at his residence. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, January 22nd from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm at The Folly Beach Crab Shack, 26 Center Street, Folly Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Amedisys Hospice Care, 1027 Physicians Drive, #240, Charleston, SC 29414 or the charity of your choice. Native to Charleston, Mr. Moon was born September 21, 1941, a son of the late John Ethridge and Eleanor Matthews Moon. He graduated from Carlisle Military School and later served in the United States Navy. After 35 years, he retired as manager from Lockheed-Martin. He was a member of the Islander Shag Club, the Orangeburg Shag Club, and the Elks Club of Charleston. He was also an avid golfer. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Vicki, he is survived by one son, John E. (Christy) Moon, III, one stepson, Michael (Dena) Munoz, three sisters, Nancy (Dick) Falby, Karen (Woody) Keels, and Donna (John) Wilson, two grandchildren, Emily and Jordan Moon, two step-grandchildren, Maria and Michael Munoz, and several nieces and nephews. It is so sad for a child to lose there father no matter if he is young or old.
