Please accept my condolences on the loss of Mr. Linton. I did not have the priviledge to meet him but I know we would have talked for hours about genealogy as we had names that coincided and I would have enjoyed hearing about his service to his country. God bless you.

Linton family, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilage to call Mr. Linton my friend. I am an avid WWII buff and 8th grade teacher in Winterville who saw his front plate some 8 years ago and after finally getting up my nerve I went and knocked on the door and he welcomed me in and we talked for hours. I enjoyed our numerous conversations that followed and he and Mrs. Linton quickly become like family. He gave my son his West Point uniform when Jordan was in the 8th grade and said he wanted to go to West Point too. We put the uniform up in his room to keep him motivated. I'm proud to say he is now in his 2nd year at West Point and he and Mr. Linton enjoyed comparing the changes at the academy. Jordan was looking forward to Mr. Linton's 75th class reunion because it would have been in his senior year. I accompanied Mr. Linton last summer to a ROMEO(Retired Old Men Eating Out) lunch which is something I will always cherish. The world has lost a true character and I've lost a true friend who I will deeply miss. May God be with your family during this sad and difficult time but take solace in knowing he is in a much better place. Please let me know if there anything I can do.

Linton family, please accept my condolences upon the passing of Mr. John. He and Miss Nannie were my very first clients when I went into the computer consulting / repair business back in 1997. I just saw him a little over a week ago; he called me to come over and help him get rid of a virus he had picked up. He seemed okay, though he told me about his recent hospital stay, so this is a bit of a shock. He lived out his days, though. I'll always have fond memories of our conversations on various subjects -- computers, politics, current events, WW2, teaching (I'm doing that at ECU now). My own dad passed some years ago, so it was always nice to be able to talk with someone from that generation. May the Lord be with you all.
