A new rescue dog, after many years without any dogs (because we were raising human puppies), brought us back to a search for our old vet, Dr. Priscilla Taylor and Dr. Limehouse. We were heartbroken to see Dr. Limehouse had passed, and Dr. Taylor now retired. Such a great couple, such a great Vet group and staff. Dr. Limehouse will always be remembered for his kind heart.

Wishing you the best in your retirement years, Dr. Taylor. Don't know we'll ever find a place like Limehouse Clinic was during those 14 years we spent with you with our beloved black lab. Thank you again.

When he was in Toluca Lake, I took all of my animals to him. I will never forget my first visit. It's as though I didn't exist. He went straight to my kitty, picked him up with his sweet speaking voice, and planted a kiss right on his head. His focus was ALWAYS on the animal giving 100% of himself to each living being under his care. Such a loss to the planet yet a gain to the veterinary field. There's only one John Limehouse, that's for sure. May his legacy continue to thrive at the Glendale location and carry on his unparalleled body of work.

We miss him still, he was a wonderful person. He was a distance cousin and regretfully I met him late in life. I hope he knows he was well loved.

I started my long veterinary technician career working for Dr. Limehouse. I worked by his side in Corvallis when he was learning about acupunture, herbology, kniesiolgy and all that it encompassed. I was there for him when he suffered his heart attach and as he needed himself back to health. He was an amazing veterinarian and all round great person. My husband and I have often thought about him. That's what prompted this season to find him. To his family, we are so sorry for your loss.

When the 'relationship' selection at the top of this book only allowed to me to enter one- I couldn't. Dr. John Limehouse was a friend, a teacher, a mentor, a role model....,

I became a veterinarian because of John. In 1975 I wandered into his clinic in Corvallis to see what the life of a veterinarian would be. It was love at first sight, literally. I worked at his clinic during my entire pre veterinary education and his mentorship is something I think about regularly and I continually try to emulate him.

Watching how John interacted with his patients and their people, has always been the model of what I wanted to be during the 34 years I've been a veterinarian. Aside from his most gentle of connections to those he helped he was, once I was able to recognize it, a brilliant veterinarian and surgeon.

We lost touch for many years, he turned to acupuncture, I turned to equine reproduction. Then in the late 90's I started to study acupuncture and to my delight learned that one of my first mentors was now one of the world's leaders in acupuncture and acupuncture education.

A perfect example of both he and Priscilla's warmth and generosity- upon calling him to ask academic questions and catch up; our conversation ended with an invite to once again observe him at work in LA and an invitation to stay at their home for a week. That's just the kind of person he was. That's just the kind of person Priscilla is.
The most difficult aspect of that week's visit was to stop calling him Dr. Limehouse around the dinner table, John had become a friend.

He was, and still is, a most important person in my life. I know I'm lucky, because my our paths crossed and I am a better person for it.

Dr. John Limehouse had extraordinary intuition, sensitivity, and expertise when it came to animals. When I brought my dog to him, she had ravaged herself from debilitating skin allergies. The best Vets across LA could not cure her, nor could they suggest a program to manage her chronic condition. Dr. Limehouse saw it as a personal challenge to treat -- and cure -- my dog. After nine months of treatment he succeeded. I have never known a veterinary practitioner as gifted as Dr. Limehouse. When I left LA every vet who practiced acupuncture in NY practically fell to their knees when I mentioned him. Every one of them let me know in advance of treatment, "I am no John Limehouse, but..." He was one of a kind, and I hope he left this world knowing the immeasurable and positive impact he made on his patients, both canine and human.

I am truly sad to have learned of Dr. Limehouse's passing. I had a number of dogs and cats that were clients of John's and Priscilla's for many years. Their longevity with such serious illnesses are solely credited to this wonderful and talented husband and wife team. John had an extraordinary gift in holistic veterinary medicine. John's contribution to the veterinary world can't be replaced.

To Priscilla - may the many wonderful years you shared with John sustain you through your darkest hours.

Dr. Limehouse was one of the kindest, gentlest, compassionate, and honorable men I've ever met. I worked with him for 10 years and told him on several occasions how much I enjoyed my job. And if it weren't for the fact that I needed money to pay my bills I would have worked for him for free. Every single day was an absolute pleasure coming into work. His memory will live on. Thank you Dr. Limehouse for all that you have done to make this world a better place. Those days were some of the best days of my life. In loving memory and with so much respect I will miss you from the bottom of my heart. PT your in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

What an ENORMOUS loss for this planet! Dr. Limehouse was one of a kind. I took my last batch of kitties to him when I lived in Toluca Lake, CA right down the street from his practice, before moving to the Westside of Los Angeles. His bedside manner was unparalleled, his knowledge and care for each and every animal was unprecedented! At any given visit, in the exam room he would look right past you not even acknowledging your presence and go straight to your animal making a big fuss as to how beautiful, sweet, cute, etc. they were. Saying hello to the humans was always an after thought which I loved and it always made me smile, as I am the same way :) He would tell them he was going to fix them up and make them better and indeed he always did. His philosophy and medicinal practice was so innovative. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to take my animals to him for over a decade. He was a cutting-edge, ground-breaking pioneer in this field which has since grown due to his dedication and ability to spread his knowledge and expertice. My heart goes out to you, Dr. Taylor. I know this hurts so deeply. You are an amazing woman. May your memories live on forever in the beautiful practice you built with your life companion and husband. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Dr. Limehouse. Your work will live on forever.

With deepest sincerity,

Your relative was our good friend. John was a kind, generous, bright, fun person to be around. He left many friends who admired him when moved from Philomath, OR. He served us in the Church as well as in his profession. We hope God will bless you as he blessed John. John was my friend. He had such a soft-spoken way about him. He tried to help our puppy who was hit by a car, but finally, after a week, called and asked me to have my children pray for release, so the dog could die. We did. The dog died. Shortly after, he called to tell me. We cried but knew it was the right thing to do. I will always be grateful for his kindness and knowledge.

Rest in Peace my sweet uncle. You were always someone I looked up to as a child- you were my mentor and my hero and the reason I became a veterinarian. I love you and will miss you and will carry you always in my heart. Much love to Priscilla and family-- May the joyful memories sustain you in this difficult time.
