John Richard Kitchener, Sr. CHARLESTON - John Richard Kitchener, Sr., 78, of Charleston, South Carolina, fiance; of Wanda K. Butler, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 9, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. John was born July 25, 1945 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, son of the late William L. Kitchener, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Hodge Kitchener. John's presence in the lives of those around him was profound and enduring. He leaves behind his fiance;e of 17 years, Wanda Butler, who shared countless memories filled with joy and companionship. Among those mourning his loss are his son, John R Kitchener, Jr. (Kristen) of Hanahan, SC; daughter, Marion "Bonnie" Bonita Reyes (JP) of Hanahan, SC; three grandchildren - Kaitlyn Martin, Andrew Reyes, and Emma Kitchener; and two great-grandchildren - Naomi Martin and Ransom Reyes. In addition to his immediate family members are extended relatives such as Don Young, Dan Young, Bob Young, Judy Ducker, and Timmy Young. Adopted family members include, Rhett Butler, Renee Hallett (Jerry), Jim Wise, Ken Wise, Lynn Adler, Ed Wise, Johnny Wise and David Wise.
