John Kilby Obituary

Iam so heartbroken. Dr. Kilby was a great doctor and friend. He will truly be missed. Iam glad i got to see him one last time on my appointment 5th. We laugh and talked about our kids. Dr kilby was there for me though my hard times. He will be missed. May God bless the Kilby Family.

I am without words. I can barely believe that Dr. Kilby has passed and I was devastated for his family, friends, colleagues and fellow patients like me. I have been working with him very closely since 2007. He has seen me through some of the most difficult days. To say that I will miss him seems trite. I am so very sorry for the loss of this fine human being. I pray that remaining family, friends, colleagues will find peace in the hope that this fine man brought to so many lives. And, thank you for giving me the most wonderful gifts in this life, health, well-being, a gorgeous healthy son who says he wishes to "Be a Dr. Kilby when he grows up, so that he can make his Mommy and all like her better too." My most heartfelt condolences.

Dr. Kilby, you were a mentor to me and a major reason why I love medicine. The world is a better place because you were here. You will be missed deeply.

We are so sorry to hear about Michael.Our son Geoffrey and Matthew were friends at daycare at South Highland Presbyterian in Birmingham.We also knew Michael and Mia through UAB. He was such a sweet person.We know he will be greatly missed by many.Peace to Mia and the boys.

So sorry for your loss, words can never ease your pain, but we mourn the loss with you as parents, no matter the age they are still our babies

I only knew Dr. Kilby for a few years, as a colleague and teacher, but I feel his loss keenly. I will always remember his wonderful way of introducing guest speakers for ID Grand Rounds each week, describing their training and accomplishments with a warmth and humility that conveyed a feeling of friendship and shared purpose.

It was a privilege to know you, Dr. Kilby. You are greatly missed.
