John Kammeyer Obituary

I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. I had the great pleasure of teaching his daughter Margaret. Her family is loved by so many people. I will be praying for his family

I just learned of Coach K's passing. When our sons were teens, he volunteered many hours as their baseball coach. My son is now 41 & we have great memories of that time he so freely gave to those boys.

It was my honor to reconnect with John just a few short years ago. Despite the 40+ years between our talking it was like we had never lost touch. That was John. My life was enriched listening to him talk about his family. He is missed.

Oh, dear John. I still have trouble accepting that you are gone and now it has been a year. You are so much missed.

I just learned of John's passing. Hearty laugh accompanied a great sense of humor, firm but fair, tremendous work ethic...great example to his family and friends alike. Dedicated to his customers.

Yesterday when I went by Rug Masters, I instantly knew SOMETHING was different. When you told me John had passed I was instantly saddened. I felt his spirit there in spite of the fact that I couldn´t see him.
He is with you all now, all the time. He is in the Kings Army. He is Loving and watching over your family.
May you be comforted knowing that you will be reunited in the promised world of "forever".

I am so saddened to learn of this. I loved watching John play basketball in high school. He was not only a great athlete but had perfect form in motion. He was such a nice person and easy to talk with and I'm sure that was how he remained. My prayers go out for John's family and friends.

John will be missed immensely. Not just by me but the tons of people he has impacted. In my Masters program we were asked to interview a great leader. Of course, I chose John. He led with passion and wisdom that I was lucky enough to get to experience in my life. John was always a friend to me and I consider him like a father figure. He left me with knowledge and skills that I will forever cherish. My thoughts and prayers are with his family who have lost a great man.

So sorry. John was a big part of my life and my families life when I was growing up. I remember all the projects my dad had him work on. He was the first adult that I got to call by his first name.

Wow! Not enough terms to describe John's life and accomplishments. It is a trite saying that he will be sorely missed, but the truth, is he will. We remember all the good visits we had both in Charleston and Ft. Wayne. We were truly fortunate to chat with John on our last trip through Charleston in March, 2021. It will be very difficult to imagine Grace Church Cathedral without John Kammeyer organizing all the ushers and managing logistics of the services. I remember my basketball-star cousin as an enthusiastic athlete who loved his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren with all his heart. He was a faithful servant of God and country. I was so surprised to read John's obituary. What a kind person. He was here to measure my steps for rugs. We talked and laughed about old times as I showed him how pleased I was with the ones Kurt had already installed. We have known each other since before you got married and we gave you that wonderful Maggie! How very much you loved her. I know that she and John have already found each other.
