I worked as John Holloway's secretary right before he retired from the CU Foundation. His understanding of Intellectual Property was fabulous, as he guided Prof. Gold and Dr. Thomas Chech through the processes of setting up their companies.
He was a gentle man, a humble man, and a gentleman, refined in many ways, yet a jokster when something was really funny. My thoughts are with the family, which I hope will find solace that they shared a life with this wonderful human being.

I originally met John when he was Boulder's Mayor and I was general counsel for the Colorado Municipal League. Shortly thereafter we worked together on a Governor's Commission in developing state laws dealing with Colorado urbanization. In recent years I encountered him only at rare lunchtime conversations. John and I didn't have to discuss the old days because it was intuitively understood that we both had paid our dues in public service and that our time had come and gone. My condolences to the family in the loss of this fine man.

My condolence to the entire Holloway clan on the loss of JP Senior.
You were my adoptive family that one summer back in the '70s.
I was never privy to the serious side of Senior's life at that time. I remember getting an education on how good greek olives were and how funny the Doonesbury cartoons were regarding Reagan running for President.
I didn't get a lecture from him when I damaged the Volvo going up to get Charley out of his predicament in Idaho Spgs., just an estimate to fix it.
I have nothing but fond memories and respect for Senior. I only saw him once in many years, but I will still miss him.
