John Hartman Obituary

John J. Hartman John J. Hartman, 64 years of age, died following a short illness at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch on January 3, 2005. John was a native of Chicago, IL. He had been employed as an accountant for 30 years, last with Southern Pacific Railroad. He had lived in San Ramon for 23 years prior to Brentwood 1 1/2 years ago. John was gentle, warm, caring soul who gave of his time as treasurer at Sommerset Orchards in Brentwood. John was a close family man. He attended and was active at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Survivors include his devoted wife of 43 years, Diane Hartman of Brentwood, loving children, Christopher John (Judy) Hartman of Gilbert, AZ and David John (Annie) Hartman of San Ramon, CA, and brothers, Henry Hartman of Villa Park, IL, Robert Hartman of Centerville, VA and Richard Hartman of Chicago, IL. Nieces and nephews also survive. He is fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, Mary Ruffino, and sister-in-law, Claudia Ruffino. Visitations will be at Brentwood Funeral Home on Friday, 10am-8pm, with a vigil at 7pm. The Liturgy will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 500 Fairview Ave., Brentwood on Saturday at 1pm. Private inurnment will follow. Donations may be made in John's memory to either the American Heart Association or Hospice of Contra Costa Co.
