John Joseph "JJ" Gladden, Jr. Moncks Corner - John Joseph "JJ" Gladden, Jr., 88, of Moncks Corner, SC, husband of Doris Brant Gladden entered into eternal rest Monday, June 27, 2022. His Graveside Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive, at 3:30 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel. JJ was born July 3, 1933, in Charleston, SC, son of the late John Joseph Gladden, Sr. and Wilma Grooms Gladden. JJ faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard for ten years and he was a Mail Clerk for the US Postal Service and retired after 40 plus years. JJ was a member of the Santee Seniors Golf Association, Berkeley Country Club, Charleston Rifle Club, Citadel Athletic Event Staff and he was a former Head of the Sunday School Department at Berkeley Baptist Church. He was an accomplished bowler and was one of the few who bowled a 300 game. He enjoyed fishing, Citadel Baseball, Clemson Football, cooking, playing golf and watching Westerns. JJ is survived by his wife, Doris Gladden; a son, John "Jack" Joseph (Melissa) Gladden III of Moncks Corner, SC; two granddaughters, Ashley Gladden (Jonathan) Kitts of Moncks Corner, SC, and Alexis Nichole Gladden of Walterboro, SC; two grandsons, John "Josh" Joseph (Lauren) Gladden IV of Summerville, SC, and James "Jamie" Leslie Dyches of Summerville, SC; two step-grandsons, Tyler Jordan (Chasity) Watkins and Blake Watkins; four great-grandchildren: Hannah Kitts, Taylor Kitts, Cooper Gladden and Rylan Watkins.
