John Gault Obituary

John G. Gault, Sr. MT. PLEASANT - Mr. John Graham Gault, Sr., age 81, husband of Dolly Clyburn Gault, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Gault was born in Union, February 24, 1942, a son of the late Fred and Virginia Montgomery Gault. He was a graduate of Union High School and a 1964 graduate of the Citadel. Mr. Gault was a retired agent, having worked with Met Life Insurance, All State and Sears. He attended Grace Church Cathedral in Charleston. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Helena Altick and husband, James of Louisiana and Christy Francis and husband, Shane of Florida; sons, John G. Gault, Jr. and wife, Lori of Louisiana, David Burrell and wife, Leslie of Travelers Rest and Douglas Burrell of Taylors; grandchildren, Frances Altick, Hannah Weaver (Graham), Abigail Altick, John Tyler Gault, Nicholas Graham Gault, Jack Gault, Sarah Francis, Alex Francis, Emily Burrell, Ian Burrell, Giuseppe Burrell and Tristan Burrell. Mr. Gault was predeceased by a grandson, James Altick, III "Trey" and four brothers, David Gault, Fred Gault, Jr., James Gault, and Sidney Gault. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Union, conducted by Father Wayman Henry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the services.
