As others have noted, Dr Ezzell was kind, compassionate and encouraging to his graduate students. He was also a wonderful teacher and an excellent scholar, able to shine a light on complex issues in finance. He was indeed the real deal! May he rest in peace.

Dr. Ezzell was my professor, Chair of my Ph.D. dissertation committee and one of the first person to meet on my arrival in the USA 44 years back. He was kind, supportive and had a sense of humor and knew how to bring out the best in his students. He was a great scholar, gentleman and an excellent guide. I Want to thank him for all that he did and fondly remember our interactions. Many years has passed since I met him, but he will always be in our memory. My prayers to the Lord.

Russ was my mentor and advisor at Penn State. I would have never made it through the Ph.d. program without his support, advice, and encouragement. May his soul Rest In Peace.
