John Cornell, Sr. Holly Hill, SC - John Edward Cornell, Sr., 64, husband of Kimberly Cornell, of Holly Hill, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021. The relatives and friends of John Cornell, Sr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Torch of Truth Ministries, 981 Gardner Blvd., Holly Hill, SC 29059. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Parks Funeral Home, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. John was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 18, 1957. He was the son of Wesley and Alma Cornell. He was a member of Boy Scouts for 8 years and was also in Little League baseball for 4 years. John was 10 years old when he became interested in racing and drove his first race car at Jacksonville raceway and continued with racing throughout adulthood and also passed down this hobby through his children and grandchildren. John was a follower of Jesus Christ and was a board member of his church, Tour of Truth Ministries. He was a part of the music ministry in this church. He loves the members of this church like they were his family. John got on his first piece of equipment which was a bulldozer at the age of three. He continued in the construction field all through adulthood and worked for JH Hiers until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ann Cornell; sons; John E. Luts and Joseph W. Cornell (Kiani); daughters, Jeanette "Sissy" Henry (Glen), Jennifer Lyn Juca (Wade), Jennifer Kay Harrington and Sarah Wixson (Chad); 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Emily Howell (Bob), Mary Jordan (Jimmy), Lynda Ponce (Sonny), Lee Hagood (Paul) and many nieces and nephews.
