John Compton Obituary

So sorry to read this, I was in Charleston and was looking to see if Murray was still in the area. He was a fine man, and I have fond memories of his wonderful family when they lived in Cleveland.

I am so sorry to hear of "Uncle" Murray's passing. I think of him from time to time, and I can't help but smile. He was always generous with his kindness and warmth. He made me feel loved, and I loved him right back. I know his memory will live on in all the people who were lucky enough to know him. Cindy and family, I send my condolences on your loss and blessings on your grief.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Murray Compton. I had the honor of sevicing with Lt Col Compton during Desert Storm. I pray for his family and know that God will bless you during this loss. He was a Great Commander and a better friend. Lt Col (Ret) Jerry S Bishop

Murray was an Outstanding Man. We were Classmates at Summerville and The Citadel. You were just better for being around him. When I get to where you are going; and that will take a while, maybe you can wrap my ankles and doctor my broken nose and cuts. Your were the best! Thanks Buddy!!
