John Clayton, Sr. Ridgeville, SC - John H Clayton, Sr., 94, of Ridgeville, SC, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021. The relatives and friends of John Clayton are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the graveside, Cummings Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. Flowers will be accepted. Due to COVID-19, everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. John was born October 25, 1926 in Givhans, SC, a son of the late Adam H. Clayton and Julia Parler Clayton. He was a retired game warden for the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR). John enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. John leaves behind his son, John H. Clayton Jr. daughter, Peggy C. Trotter (Ronnie), all of Ridgeville, SC sister, Betty Freeman, of Brooklet, GA. He is predeceased by his wife, Margaret Clayton, two brothers and five sisters.
