John Clayton, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - John Hampton Clayton Jr., 71, of Summerville, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 11 o'clock at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1514 SC-61, Ridgeville, SC 29472. A visitation will be held the night before from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Burial will follow at Cummings Chapel. Flowers are accepted. John was born on July 20, 1951 in Summerville, SC and is the son of the late John H. Clayton Sr., and Margaret H. Clayton. During his lifetime, he graduated from Summerville High School, and played for the Summerville High School Green Wave football team. He then went on to become a very successful car salesman. After retiring, John would then go on and open up Jedburg Liquors, where he made connections with so many people. He loved hunting, and being on the boat, and watching NASCAR races. Most importantly, John loved all his friends and family and will be missed dearly by so many people. John is survived by his sister, Peggy Clayton Trotter (Ronnie) of Ridgeville, SC; along with various aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, John H. Clayton Sr., and Margaret H.
