John was born February 26, 1951 in Norfolk, Virginia, son of John A. Chinnis, Sr., and the late Janie Willis Chinnis. He was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his father, John A. Chinnis, Sr. of Ravenel, SC; two daughters, Janie Shannon, Rebecca Chinnis, seven grandchildren all of Louisa, KY.
