Dear Johnnie, Kathy, Philip, and Danny: I was sad to learn of John's death. I wanted to tell you that through all my years working at the
Shipyard, your father was a great friend, and a special supervisor. I will always remember John for his quick smile and warm, generous spirit. Regards and prayers, May Stanfield.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Chakides was my very first supervisor when I began working for the government in 1977. He was a wonderful "boss" and taught me so much. He was truly a great person.
Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest & sincere condolences to the family of John Chakides. He was a great person, a true Christian & will be sorely missed by all throughout the Charleston Community and especially by his lovely family & the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. I feel humbled & honored to have known John for many, many years. I also worked with John at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and he helped many, many people there, including me.
