John Auld Obituary

John Auld, Sr. Charleston - John Massalon Auld, Sr., 77, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Jeanette Auld, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 30, 2021. His graveside service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021, in Christ Church Cemetery, 2304 Highway 17 North, at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. John was born November 18, 1943, in Charleston, South Carolina, and grew up in Mount Pleasant. He was the son of the late Seabrook Auld and the late Marguerite Massalon Auld. He spent his life on the water, working on shrimp boats and as a Tugboat Captain; he enjoyed the summers at the family's cabin on Lake Lure in North Carolina. He was an active member in Christ Church of Mount Pleasant and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Auld of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Jeanie Meyers of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Susan Thesing of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Judith Byrd of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Beth Auld of Huger, SC; four grandchildren, Alex Meyers of Knoxville, TN, Caroline Atkinson of Awendaw, SC, Nancy Thesing and John Thesing both of Atlanta, GA; he was preceded in death by his son, John Massalon Auld, Jr. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Mount Pleasant, 2304 Highway 17 North, Mt.
