Jody Smoak Obituary

SMOAK, Jody GREEN POND - Mr. Thomas Joel "Jody" Smoak, 35, of Baxley, Georgia, died Thursday evening, December 1, 2005, at his residence in Green Pond. Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, December 5, 2005, from the graveside in Smoak Cemetery near Sniders. Casket bearers will be: Ike Crosby, Mitch Jones, Joe Eason, Steve Craven, Jody Collins, and Foster Rowland. Honorary escorts will be: Gary Bashlor, Lewis Hughes, Michael Thomas, Jerry Beecher, Grady Miles, Cleo Barrs, Burt Loadholdt, Gene Teston, Nelson Garvin, Dr. John Mann, Benji Pearce, Kenneth Smoak, Doug Perkins, Wayne Lamb, and Curtis Fennell. Jody was born November 7, 1970 in Walterboro and was a son of Joel Smoak and Fran Smoak. He resided in Baxley for the past twenty-two years where he attended Ferry Road Baptist Church. He was an Iron Worker and was a member of the Local 709 Iron Workers Union of Savannah. He will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing. Surviving him are: a daughter, Abby Noel Smoak of Cairo, Georgia; his mother, Fran Smoak of Baxley; his father, Joel Smoak of Baxley; three sisters, Lyrissa Smoak and Torie Watson, and her husband Michael all of Baxley; his grandmother, Doris Smoak of Walterboro. There are several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews that also survive him, as well as a special friend, Michelle Spell. Arrangements by: THE BRICE W.
