Joan McQuillan Obituary

Joan McQuillan Summerville - Joan Cross McQuillan, 70, of Summerville, SC, died Monday morning at her residence. Her funeral will be 6:00 PM Thursday evening, June 16, 2016, at the graveside in the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 4:00 until 5:30 PM on Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Francis R. Willis SPCA, 136 Four Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29843. Mrs. McQuillan was born October 11, 1945, in Moncks Corner, SC, a daughter of John David Cross and Faye Tyler Cross. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School and attended Lander University. Mrs. McQuillan was a member of DAR and the Huguenot Society of SC. Two of her greatest passions were her music and art. She was preceded in death by a son, William Brady McQuillan. Surviving are, her husband of 51 years, Robert C. McQuillan, Sr.; her mother of Jacksonville; a daughter, Amy M. Jewel and her husband, Chris, of Dayton, OH; a son, Robert C. McQuillan, Jr., and his wife, Patricia, of Goose Creek; a sister, Deborah Etheredge and her husband, Bill, of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Brandon Taylor McQuillan, Jace Patrick McQuillan, William Hunter McQuillan, Joseph David McQuillan, Olivia Hamilton, and Tyler Ben Jewel; and a great grandchild, Langston Ellis McQuillan.
