Joan Gasque Obituary

Joan Gasque KINGSTREE, SC - Mrs. Joan Barrineau Gasque, 78, widow of Sam Gasque, died Thursday, May 27, 2010, in McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Gasque was born October 15, 1931, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late James Duncan and Mary Viola Hanna Barrineau. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and Draughn's Business College in Columbia, and retired as office administrator after 45 years with Life Insurance Company of Georgia. Mrs. Gasque was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Wallace Connor Sunday School Class, Gary Hemingway Circle, and the Senior Citizens Group. Survivors are: her two sons, Dan H. Gasque (Jeannie Rhett), of Kingstree and David G. Gasque (Troi), of Florence, grandchildren, Allie E. Gasque, of Charleston, Sam "Trey" Gasque III, of Florence, Zachary R. Gasque and Rylee Shea Gasque, both of Florence, three step-grands, several nieces and nephews, and her former daughter-in-law, Judy B. Gasque, of Florence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010, in Kingstree United Methodist Church, with burial in McClary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made to Kingstree United Methodist Church, 510 N. Longstreet Street, Kingstree, SC 29556 or McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.
