Joan Cumins Arazie B.S., R.T., (R) (T), CMD
Charleston - Joan Cumins Arazie B.S., R.T., (R) (T), CMD, 72, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Sam Arazie, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 29, 2025.
Joan was born July 28, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Jerome Cumins and Phyllis Levy Cumins.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her adored children, Jeri Arazie, Ryan (Renee) Arazie, and Alison (Devon) Thornton; her beloved grandchildren, Abe, Noah, and Juliet Arazie, James and Phyllis Thornton; her precious sisters, Ilene Cumins Turbow and Cindy Cumins (Joe) Brams; and many treasured nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her unforgettable brother, Mark Cumins.
Joan was an accomplished Medical Dosimetrist, published author, honored professor, and a Radiation Therapy Outstanding Alumnus Award winner. Along with all of her accomplishments, she loved reading, taking walks, playing mahjong and canasta with her friends, gardening with Sam, and making the best Thanksgiving and pre-Thanksgiving feast. Most of all, she was an incredible mother and JoJo.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, Jerome and Phyllis Cumins Education Scholarship Award, Mark and Noula Cumins Nursing Scholarship Fund, St. Jude's Hospital, Adas Yeshuran Synagogue, or a charity of your choice.
