Jimmie Benton N. Charleston - Jimmie Loretta (Franklin) Benton, age 81, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Jimmie was born in Union, SC. Jimmie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Perry L. "Bunny" Benton; son, John Perry Benton (Katrina) of Goose Creek, SC; daughters, Leigh Anne Hardwick (Wendell) and Lynn Foster (Thomas) both of Bluffton, SC; sister, Sharyn D. Franklin of North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Jonathon, Ashleigh, Walker, Lillian, Samantha, Alexandria, and Jackson. Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, John Pershing and Lillian (Gault) Franklin; brother, Larry Frank Franklin; and sisters, Sue Carolyn Franklin and Janice Louisa Ward. Jimmie was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church, a graduate of North Charleston High School, an avid sports fan, and a longtime volunteer with athletics at North Charleston High School and The Citadel. She and Bunny were outdoor enthusiasts that enjoyed fishing and camping. A visitation will be held for Jimmie at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 5:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00am. 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
