Jill Suezette Midgett CHARLESTON - Jill Suezette Midgett, 66, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly of unknown causes on July 21, 2023. Jill was born on April 27, 1957 to Willard O'Neal Midgett and Elvema Marjorie (Deal) Midgett in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating from North Shore High School in 1974, she graduated from Palm Beach State College in 1976 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1979. Jill dedicated much of her professional career to healthcare. She served as the manager of diagnostic microbiology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) from 1999-2004. She rejoined the MUSC family in 2014 until her untimely death, assuming the role as the pediatric infection preventionist for Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital. For Jill, this was not merely a job; she was passionate and determined to help improve the lives of children through her work. She did so effortlessly and graciously every day. In addition to her profound dedication to her profession, Jill was a nature enthusiast and avid bird watcher. She had a kind and generous soul with an unwavering love for all living creatures, whether human, feline, or avian. Jill was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Sharon Midgett Kramer. She is survived by her beloved fur babies, nephew, nieces, and many friends and co-workers who considered her family. Jill will be greatly missed but never forgotten, as she left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
