Jewel was so thoughtful, so caring, so gracious a person one feels a deep sense of lost. God has called home one of his angels. My prayers go out to you and your family

To Carolyn, Alexis, and family members. I am with mixed emotions struggling to sign this Guest Book. As you know, Jewel and I met while working at Harris Teeter Grocery Store and our spirits immediately connected, what a friend. I left Charleston and moved to Alexandria, VA, and we kept in touched, before we knew, Jewel relocated to Washington, DC. We would get together on the weekends and couldn't stay off the telephone until eventually we became room-mates along with Patricia Johnson and Sandra Smalls. We really lived our lives to the fullest, having fun shopping, eating out, travelling, partying, and yes, not forgetting to attend church service on Sunday. I can hear her calling, "Hey Vee", what are we doing after work. Jewel was a giver, we all learned to share knowing that we were the only family to each another living up North. Yes, we had our ups and downs but the good always outwayed the bad. To the family, I thank God for allowing Jewel and I to cross paths and despite the indifferences we may have had, I know that Jewel with her giving and caring Spirit faced death without fear believing that Thy Rod and Thy Staff will Comfort her family here on Earth as she rest in the arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Girl, take your rest, we LOVE YOU but God LOVES YOU BEST. Until Then, Farewell..........
