Jewel Hayes Obituary

Jewel Allen Hayes N. CHARLESTON - Jewel Allen Hayes, 78, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late James H. Hayes Jr., left this earth on Sunday, February 10, 2025, to live forever in Heaven. Jewel was born May 4, 1946, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Arthur L. Allen and Marjorie Miller Allen. She graduated from Rivers High School, after graduating she went to work at Edwards. After leaving Edwards to join her sister, Gloria, at Southern Bell / AT&T where she retired from. Jewel was a faithful follower and life long member of Asbury St. James United Methodist Church. Where she was a devoted member of the worship committee. She took great pride in preparing communion tables. The most loving mother ever is survived by daughter, Amy Hayes; son, Jim Hayes; and sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, and many great loved ones and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Moore; and Max, along with many other loved ones. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, in the Asbury St. James United Methodist Church, 754 Rutledge Ave., at 11:00 am, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asbury - St. James United Methodist Church, to the "Worship Committee", or to the charity of your choice.
