Jessie Dobbins Obituary

DOBBINS, Jessie YADKINVILLE, NC - Jessie Elizabeth Davis Dobbins, 80, of Yadkinville, NC, widow of James Ellis Dobbins, Sr., died Sunday, September 18, 2005. Funeral services will be held at Gentry Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday morning, September 21, 2005 at eleven o'clock. Friends may call Wednesday morning from nine-thirty until time of service. Burial will be in Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, C/O Epsilon Sigma Alpha Circle of Life, 364 West Drake Road, Ft. Collins, CO 80521. Mrs. Dobbins was born July 23, 1925 in Yadkinville, NC, a daughter of the late Mahlon Ray Davis and the late Eula Ennis Bray Davis. She was a graduate of Yadkinville High School and a member of Yadkinville First Baptist Church. She was married to James Dobbins for sixty-two years. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with many dear friends. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James Ellis Dobbins, Jr. and Sylvia Dobbins of Hendersonville, NC and Paschal Ray Dobbins and Lisa of Yadkinville, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julia D. Joyce and Steve Joyce of Anderson, SC and Ennis D. Karns and Mike Karns of Ladson, SC; seven grandchildren, Justice Briand and husband Ron Briand of Charlotte, NC, Jami Reavis and wife Nickie Reavis of Mt. Pleasant, SC; David, Andy and Mahlon Dobbins all of Yadkinville, NC, William Crocker of Charlotte and Christy Clark of Winston-Salem; four great-grandchildren, Keaton and Taylor Goforth of Charlotte, NC; Calib Dobbins of Yadkinville, NC and Nolan Harn of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was preceded in death by two brothers, C. L. "Tat" Davis, Thomas Ray Davis, one sister, Annie Carlton and three grandchildren.
