Jesse Judd Obituary

Jesse Roland Judd, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - Jesse Roland Judd Jr. of Summerville, SC, husband of Donna Couch Judd, died Tuesday morning August 24, 2010, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 22, 1936, in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Jesse Roland Judd Sr and Ruth Springs Judd Cumbee. Roland was pre-deceased by a very special Aunt and Uncle, Susie and Frank White, also from Charleston, SC. Roland graduated from St Andrews High School and then proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Roland then attended the College of Charleston to which he later started a career as a successful businessman in the automobile industry. He was also a long standing member of the National Automobile Dealers Association. Roland presently owns D J Enterprises, in which his son Jason is the operating manager. Roland was a simple man who always put his family first. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including boating, fishing, crabbing, water-skiing, and in his younger days he was known as a horseshoe champion. Roland is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Donna Couch Judd, a daughter Kristy Judd, two sons Jason and Cory Judd. He is also survived by a brother Billy Judd of James Island, a sister Sandra Tony/husband Don of Hollywood, SC, a sister Norma Jean Bowman/husband Ron of Richmond, MO, and two grandchildren Dr Devon Davis and Quentin Bork. In addition to his family, he will be greatly missed by many life-long friends and devoted family pets Winston and Charlie. Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m., this Thursday evening, at James A Dyal Funeral Home in Summerville. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m., at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29483.
