Jesse Harris Obituary
HARRIS, SR., Jesse Jesse W. Cooter Harris, Sr., 79, of St. Stephen, SC, a retired carpenter, died Monday evening in a North Charleston hospital. The funeral will be 2:00 PM this Thursday afternoon, Jan. 31, 2008, in the Redeemed Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Harristown Full Gospel Holiness Church Cemetery. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, until 12:00 Noon and then at the Church from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.. Mr. Harris was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Harristown, SC, a son of Samuel D. Harris and Lula Murray Harris. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of the Redeemed Holiness Church, and a member of the St. Stephen Hunting Club. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a son, Jerald Harris. Surviving are, his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Brassell Harris; three daughters, Rev. Carmen Humbert and Theresa Harris both of St. Stephen, and Jo Ann Hilton of Summerfield, FL; three sons, Jesse W. Dub Harris, Jr., Mark J. Harris, and Harley Harris all of St. Stephen; a sister, Eloise Nix of St. Stephen; twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
