Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. I never had the pleasure of meeting Bishop Devoe, but I am the grandmother of his great-grandson Jason Jr. I attended the wake and was pleasured to know that he was a very prominent and upright man.I know the family is going to miss him, but you can find comfort in knowing that Bishop Devoe left a legacy behind that is to be commended, and the atmosphere at his wake service will attest to that. There was a peace that surpassed my understanding and the Holy Spirit was present and felt....Be Blessed Family.

In the days to come if you feel a little overwhelmed with grief, remember God said "I will never leave you nor will I ever forsake you." Continue to lift your eyes to the hills that's where your strength and courage comes from. Give God praise for the time spent together knowing that, when Christ returns, you will meet again. Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Family is the connecting block of shared experiences by blood or feelings. To our Brother inlaw Jerry (JR), nieces and the rest of the family. We all know these days must come but at the same time we can never be fully prepared. I am sure faith has been the corner stone in the Devoe family and home for years. Keep the faith as you were taught and all else will work out.
