Jermaine Shuler Obituary

Jermaine was a wonderful, smart, kind young man when I taught him math at GArrett. I know he was a fine contributing adult. Sending prayers to his family.

Jermaine, Jermaine, Jermaine! Jon, you, and myself were making plans to link up and then COVID hit. I’m hurtin’ right now and everyone who knew you are too.

Although more than thirty years have passed since I had Jermaine as a math student, I remember him. He was a gentleman always! He had a beautiful smile and a great disposition. My condolences to his family and friends...Peace to all.

What a humble and thoughtful guy! It was 30 years ago, earlier this month that I had the pleasure of getting to know Jermaine. Class of '94 Golf Company. My deepest sympathies to Jermaine's family and friends. Know that you all are in the thoughts and prayers of many!

What an amazing person and friend you were. I am truly a better man for having known you. As saddened as I am to hear of your passing I feel so privileged to have been able to spend countless Thursday nights hanging out with you and laughing until my sides hurt most evenings. So very sorry to hear of this! Jermaine was a year behind me at The Citadel in Golf Company, and he always did great things there, obviously on the baseball field, but in the barracks as well! My heart and prayers goes out to his family and especially his children!

To Jermaine’s family and friends, you have my condolences. I taught Jermaine at Garrett High School and kept up with his baseball career at the Citadel. I will always remember Jermaine because he was an excellent student and a very good person.

I was a teammate of Jermaine’s at The Citadel for three years on the baseball team. Not only a fierce competitor and a great athlete, he was a great guy off the field and so much fun to be around. I remember joking around with him and laughing every day in the locker room just like it was yesterday. Such a sad loss for the Citadel Bulldog family and his own family, as well. He will be dearly missed. Rest In Peace, bud.

Jermaine your light will continue to shine through your family and friends. You left a great legacy.

Jermaine, You are going to be missed my brother. So many good memories filled with laughter and joy. I've been knowing you since we were sixteen years old and you always put God and family first. Your legacy will live on through your children, your family, and your friends. (2 Corinthians 5:1) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Rest in peace my friend.

I grew up with Jermaine Playing baseball on the playground and in High School, looking up to him always. I don’t think I ever told him the influence that he had on me in the way he always conducted himself. When he left High School and went to The Citadel his decision and a few other teammates that also went was a big reason for me enrolling a few years later. When he was awarded the SOCON Tournament MVP in 1994 it was as if I had also won because I was so proud. Even though we haven’t seen or talked in many years, he will be missed by me and so many others. Rest easy old friend.

We met Jermaine through Park Sharon baseball. He was an amazing Coach, mentor and role model to our son (Caleb Trader). He could read him and had a way with his words that just relaxed him in the dugout. Unfortunately, Caleb's time with you was cut way too short. We are deeply saddened but know that God has his loving arms around you and you will forever be protected. We send our love to you . Our deepest condolences to you all.

Jermaine, you meant so much to so many. You have forever left a lifetime of wisdom and love to those you have surrounded yourself with. I respect the person, man, and father you are. My son, Sam #9, was so lucky to have you as a coach in baseball and life. You will be forever remembered and missed dearly.

I'm a Citadel grad class of 1985 but Jermaine and I were both Ford Motor credit alums. I worked with in the collection department. He was always such a professional and diligent young man. I was really sad to hear this news. He was a wonderful person.
