Rogelio Paranal GOOSE CREEK - Rogelio Robianes Paranal, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in Charleston, South Carolina. Rogelio was born on August 30, 1942, in Nabua, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He joined the United States Navy as a young recruit in 1964, and continued as a dedicated enlisted man culminating in 21 years of exemplary service in the Armed Forces. Rogelio Paranal has been recognized for his military service by receiving several awards during his active duty days including The National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal & Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal With Bronze Star, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal With Device and Ribbon Bar. "Roger", as he was affectionately nicknamed by his friends and colleagues, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing and caring for him. His pathway on this earth was marked by a strong work ethic, a great sense of adventure, a deep admiration for music and entertainment, and an unwavering steadfast loyalty to his family. He had a committed faith in God, especially as a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Rogelio is survived by his loving wife, Rogeria Rellora Paranal; and daughters, Rowena Paranal and Rechelle Paranal (husband Chad Higgins). In honor of Rogelio Robianes Paranal, relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 RIVERS AVE., NORTH CHARLESTON, SC 29406. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.
