Jennifer Koenemann Obituary

Jennifer Elizabeth Hess Koenemann LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH - Jennifer Elizabeth Hess Koenemann, 35, of Liberty Township, OH died suddenly on Tuesday, May 16. Born in Charleston, SC, in 1982, Jenni was the only child of Barbara and Robert Hess. She was a 2000 graduate of Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant, SC. An avid music lover, she played flute, marched in high school and collegiate marching bands, and studied music education at the University of South Carolina (Bachelor of Music, 2004) and Michigan State University (Master of Music, 2006). She taught elementary music for 12 years in East Lansing, MI, Charleston, SC, Louisville, KY, and Cincinnati, OH. Jenni was a loving, devoted and caring wife and daughter whose brave, strong, and kind spirit allowed her to keep a positive outlook and to be an inspiration to those around her. As an devoted animal lover, she displayed great affection for her cats and her dog. She demonstrated her love for others through many acts of kindness, and her sassy and witty personality lit up every room. Jenni was a voracious reader, dear friend, and an outspoken student advocate. Jenni will be forever loved and remembered by her husband and best friend, Jeremy Lynn Koenemann; by her parents Barbara and Robert Hess; by her parents-in-law Dixie and Jerry Koenemann; by her Aunt Suzie and Uncle Taylor Dulaney, also her Godparents; by her dear family friend Lynda Davis; by her Aunt Cathy and Uncle Charles Stichweh; by her Aunt Annie and Uncle Robert Greenawalt; by her Aunt Susan and Uncle Harry Givelber; by her Aunt Sarah and Uncle Greg Cohen; by her godchildren Heather and Dylan Koenemann; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jenni was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Orpha and Robert Greenawalt and paternal grandparents Carolyn and Charles Hess. Memorial contributions in memory of Jenni Koenemann may be made to Cincinnati Orff Schulwerk, (a music educators' chapter where she was an active member) 6791 Tylersville Rd., Mason, OH 45040. Dear Jeremy, 2017 brought immeasurable loss to both of us. And just last night I thought, I need to ask Kim if shes heard from Jeremy lately. Then I open my email this morning and find this Legacy. Coincidence? Perhaps not. Know that I grieve with you. And every year, either Kim or I are sure to bake brownies for the Cup with a layer of Hersey bar in the middle. Then we remember Jenny when we bite into the extra goodness melted in the sun. Thats who Jenny was: extra goodness. Blessings, Nancy Wylie

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Jenni from Holy Cross Episcopal on Sullivan's Island. We were in Sunday School together. And we were also in Wando High School band together. She was such a positive person and great role model. It is amazing to see how many lives she touched. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Barbara, Bob and Jeremy,
I am so very sorry to hear of Jenni's passing. Jenni was such a bright spirit- giving, encouraging, kind. A cheerleader for so many and a true teacher at heart. I am grateful for her strong example and leadership during my high school days as a Wando band-mate and also at USC in the band there. I am so sad to hear that she is gone, but very grateful to have known her. God bless you and wrap His arms around you during this difficult time.

Jenni was my Big Sister, my college roommate, my Matron of Honor, my best friend. I am reminded of her influence every day, whether I'm wearing pearls, baking cookies, playing music, drinking tea, crafting, or if I use anything monogrammed (and I have plenty of it from her!). Most importantly, she taught me how to live intentionally and love unconditionally. My life was forever changed having had her in it.

I will miss you forever, sweetie. Thank you for every moment.
