Jennie Lee Satterfield Hendrix EDISTO ISLAND, SC - Jennie Lee Satterfield Hendrix passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 12:45 am. The visitation with family members will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015, at The SEFA Group, 217 Cedar Road, Lexington, SC, in the Reception Hall from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., additional parking will be available via shuttle service at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 in The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island, 2164 Highway 174, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Reception Hall. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC. Jennie was born on May 18, 1940 to Dovie and William "Spike" Satterfield in Charlotte, NC. She is a graduate of Harding High School in Charlotte. While a student at Harding, she met Thomas C. Hendrix who would later become her husband. They were married on September 1, 1962. She attended Flora McDonald College and later studied Medical Technology and worked at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Jennie and Tom are the parents of two children, Lee Ann and Gregg. The Hendrix family relocated to the Atlanta area and eventually settled in Snellville, Georgia where they raised their family. Jennie was involved in church, school, and community activities and spent many evenings at the little league ball fields. Jennie was a long time member of Snellville United Methodist Church. Tom and Jennie are the founders and owners of The SEFA Group, a coal ash beneficiation business committed to serving the ready mixed concrete and public utility industries as well as providing transportation and environmental disposal services. The SEFA Group's main office is now located in Lexington, SC. In the late 1980s, Jennie and Tom relocated to Edisto Island and commute regularly between their creek side home and their offices in Lexington. Jennie remained actively involved with The SEFA Group as Vice President and Board Member until her death. Jennie was a member of The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Jennie is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Hendrix of Edisto Island, her daughter, Lee Ann Wagner (Tobey) of Awendaw, SC and her son, Gregg Hendrix (Wendy) of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Drew Wagner, Katie Wagner, Caroline Wagner, Rebecca Wagner, Grant Hendrix, Sarah Hendrix, Claire Hendrix, and by two great grandchildren, Mary Margaret and Levi Wagner. Jennie is also survived by her brother, Ronald E. Satterfield and by numerous nieces and nephews. I knew Jennie Lee briefly in High School but she made a lasting impression on me. She was a "Class Act" in every sense of the word. I knew then that she would be an enormous blessing to her future family and on everyone who was blessed to be part of her life. My heart goes out to her family in their great loss.

Mr.Tom, Lee Ann, Gregg and family, my heart breaks for you!
I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Ms.Jennie because my mother, Susan Richardson, works for SEFA. Every time I would stop by to see my mom and Ms. Jennie was in the building, she would always come see me and give me a huge hug!! She will be greatly missed!!
