Jennie Colgan Obituary

COLGAN, Jennie Entered into eternal rest at home in Charleston, SC on January 11, 2006. Ms. Jennie Colgan was the widow of Willard H. Colgan, Mother of Donald M. Colgan (deceased) and Mitchell W. Colgan, and the proud Grandmother of Donald's two daughters, Jessica L. Colgan and Cynthia D. Colgan. Jennie Korzyniowski was born June 18, 1917 in Gardener, Massachusetts and soon afterward moved to Los Angeles, California. A graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, Jennie Colgan was a dedicated home economics teacher at Griffith Junior High School. For the last fifteen years or her tenure there, Jennie Colgan was the Dean of Girls. Her love of her students and her kindness and wisdom positively influenced many students' lives. In remembrance of a great teacher and in lieu of flowers or memorials, the family asks all to remember the educators that influenced their lives. All services are private. Jennie Colgan will be interred along side her husband at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.
