Jeanette Mason Obituary

Jeanette Funchess Mason Hampton, SC - Mrs. Jeanette Funchess Mason, 90, of Hampton, died early Wednesday morning, March 6, 2019, in the Methodist Oaks Home in Orangeburg. Mrs. Mason was born June 6, 1928 in Rowesville, a daughter of the late John David Funchess and Merle Inabinet Funchess. She was a graduate of Winthrop College, and had taught school in Hampton for several years. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church and was the widow of Cecil E. Mason. Surviving are daughter: Claire M. Freeman and husband Edward of Rowesville; son: Edward Mason of Orangeburg; grandchildren: Mason Freeman of Raleigh, NC, Anna Claire Freeman Butler of Greer; and one great-grandson. There are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery conducted by Rev. Tyler Strange. Visitation will begin at 1:30 P.M. prior to the services at the Funeral Home.
