Jean Clapp Osborne DANIEL ISLAND - Jean Clapp Osborne, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Followed by interment at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Dr., North Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 pm to the time of service. Jean was born November 29, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late Ernest Clapp and the late Catherine McNamara Clapp. She worked as a well loved waitress for Alex's restaurant in Mount Pleasant. Jean will be remembered for the way she loved her family. She never met a stranger. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Leyh (Michael); granddaughter, Sheila Horton (Chris Story) of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Gracie Fill, of Charleston, SC, Sara Horton Davis (Kay), of Greenwood, SC, Socorro Garza Bautista (Aaron), and Emmanuela Victor of Hanahan, SC, Kristian Story (Laney) of Denver, CO, Emma Story, and Sophie Story of Caldwell, ID; great-great- grandchildren, Noah, Stella and Matias, all of Hanahan, SC and siblings, Ronnie Clapp of Flinstone, MD, Robert Clapp of Columbia, SC, and Virginia Carole Clapp of Dunedin, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Carl Benjamin Osborne. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Susan G.
