She worked as a nurse for her two brothers, Dr. Richard Slough and Dr. Thomas Slough and later as a psychiatric nurse at McCray Memorial Hospital. She was elected Kendallville City Judge in 1971 and served two terms. An avid bridge player, Mrs. McIntosh was active in Tri-Kappa and worshiped at Trinity Methodist Church. Mrs. McIntosh moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1981 and finished her career at the Psychiatric Institute of University Medical Hospital. Jean and I had some fun treks in and around Indiana when her son was running for Governor. What a rich life she led! I know she will be missed greatly by many people, especially her dear family. My heart is with you all.

I was fortunate enough to meet Jean McIntosh quite a few years ago. Since that time, I have had the honor and privilege to be in her presence on many occasions and enjoyed every one of those times with her.

Jean was always so very kind to me and my son; I know I've hugged and thanked her many times for so many reasons. I hope she knows how appreciative I am of her friendship and support. Jean absolutely made this world a better place.

God bless you, Jean, your family and friends. We will miss you.

Love in Christ,
Margaret "Maggie" Alcorn
