Jean Davis Obituary

Jean Davis N. Charleston - Jean Farr Davis, 89, of North Charleston, SC, a retired accounting clerk for Bayer Corporation, died Sunday afternoon at the Summerville Community Hospice House. Her funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2022, at the graveside in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Howze Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday evening, according to Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests memorials be made to the Holmes Avenue Baptist Church OCC, 4602 Durant Ave., N. Charleston, SC 29405. Mrs. Davis was born October 2, 1932, in Greenville, SC, a daughter of Robert Conway Farr and Mae Maddox Farr. She was a graduate of Paris High School in Taylors, SC, and she was a faithful member of the Holmes Avenue Baptist Church, North Charleston, SC. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping trips with her family and was forever an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Davis also enjoyed knitting and trips to the beach and mountains. While living in Greenville, she worked for both Southern Bell and Woolworth. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a brother, Pat Farr, and she was the widow of Harold Edmund Davis. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra D. Davies and her husband, Stephen, of Summerville, and Lisa A. Davis of North Charleston; a son, Harold E. Davis, Jr., of Summerville; a sister, Shirley F. Hester of Greenville; three grandchildren, Chris Davis, Matthew Davies, and Tyler Davies; a great-grandchild, Wynter Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
