Jean Boggs Obituary

I just heard about Jean. I used to love her coming down for breakfast and to my desk at Sweetgrass...she had a wonderful smile, and quite the dancer..

Many fond memories of the Boggs family especially Ellen ,Lee and Taylor whom I knew best and that wonderful funny Jean. It was always a pleasure to visit at that stately Overbrook house which was always filled with joy and laughter. We so enjoyed having dinner with your Mom and Annie every night at Wellmore. She was a delightful lady and we always enjoyed her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. We will miss her greatly!

I will always remember Jean, so well dressed, happy and smiling from the pews at St. Anthony's, she was a joy!

Dear Taylor,
I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was such a joy to talk to and to see at St. Anthony's! I often told my children, "When I grow up, I want to be like Jean Boggs!" She always had a smile on her face...like she was up to something! During an "ask Fr. Pat homily", he was explaining the knots on his rope belt..."No money, No honey, Do as you're told". He went on to tell about how he chose to follow his vocation and the sacrifice of leaving his girlfriend. At the conclusion of his story, your mom raised her hand and asked, "What happened to your honey?" I can't recall his answer, but haven't forgotten your mom's question.
She lived a good, full life and has left quite a legacy thru her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed physically, but will live on in our hearts and memory.
Take care of yourself, Taylor! Please know my prayers are with all the family.

So very sorry, Taylor, to learn about the loss of your Mother, Jean. I know you, and your whole family, will miss her dearly. Taylor, I send my sincere condolences in the loss of your sweet mother. I so enjoyed getting to know you two when you would bring her to Carpenter Brothers for lunch. Her wisdom and sense of humor always brightened my day.

Jean was our neighbor in Overbrook until we had to relocate because of John´s job. During our ten years on Overbrook Circle, Jean was like another grandmother to our son, also named John. Jean encouraged John to join a swim team, which forever changed his life. When we moved to Indianapolis, John joined his middle school swim team and then swam for his high school. Those friends with whom he swam continue to be great friends. Our family loved Jean! She was a great lady! Our thoughts and prayers will be with Taylor, Mary Fraser, and the rest of this wonderful family.

What a Great Joy must have been in heaven upon receiving Jean. I was blessed by having known her and seeing what peace and joy look like. I thank God for her life and I see in her family the good fruit of her life. I´m sure you miss her. You all are in my prayers.

Taylor, your mom was such a fun loving lady with a great smile!!! I am sure you will miss her but she is resting in the arms of our Lord.

Jean was a kind, energetic woman who was an inspiration. It has been t privilege to know her and her daughter Taylor. Rest in peace Jean.

I knew Jean Boggs only through her wonderful daughter, Taylor Smith. We had the privilege of working together at Buena Vista Elementary School, and I know Mrs. Boggs was a fantastic lady because her daughter is a fantastic lady. Taylor talked about her mother often, and always in glowing terms. May the peace of Christ and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you and your family.

A great Lady, that lived a great life.
Always a smile, and so kind. She was loved by everyone she touched.

We are all truly blessed to have known you Mrs Boggs. I am a better person. I will miss our days spent together having laughs and listening to your stories growing up with your best friend, Eugenia!
