Janie Parker Obituary

PARKER, Janie HAMPTON - Mrs. Janie Margaret Hudson Murdaugh Parker, 76, died Saturday night at the Allendale County Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Parker was born in Ruffin "Colleton County" July 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Heyward and Blanche Breland Hudson, Sr. She had retired from the 14th Circuit Solicitors Office as Administrative Assistant, and was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Roy Parker and was first married to the late Joseph Jacob Murdaugh. Surviving are: son, Vernon Murdaugh and wife Susan of Hampton; two daughters, Rae Miley and husband Billy of Brunson, Judy Rutland and husband Joseph of Hampton; one sister, Willie Mae Crosby of Walterboro; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Parker was pre-deceased by a brother, Dr. Heyward Hudson and a grandson, Joey Rutland. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, and Tuesday until the hour of services.
