Janice Smith Lyman Summerville - Janice Smith Lyman, 78, of Summerville, wife of Keith Allan Lyman, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Trident Medical Center.Masks and Social distancing are required. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 10 o'clock to 11 o'clock at Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 W. ThirdSouth St., Summerville, SC 29483. A funeral service will begin at 11 o'clock. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, Youth Foundation at 119 W. Third South St., Summerville, SC 29483.Janice was born on November 20, 1942, daughter of the late James And Inez Smith. After receiving a Bachelor's degree from Winthrop College in Education, she worked for POMFLANT and the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Janice was a long-term active member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the Searchers Sunday School Class. She was also a charter member of Cooper River Baptist Church and remained involved in their ministry. She found many joys in life, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors, in addition to her husband Allan of 50 years, are: son, Scott Wayne Lyman (Kerri) of Summerville two grandchildren: Blake Thomas Lyman and Merritt Gwendolyn Lyman sister, Carole Galloway of Summerville two nephews: James Galloway (Amelia) and Bryan Galloway three nieces: Jeanne Tindal McRae (the late Brian), Caroline Tindal McWhorter (Tee), Jennifer Tindal Dickinson two great-nieces: Eliza Grace and Emma Claire and many more family members.
