Janice Claire Richter Galloway CHARLESTON - Janice Claire Richter Galloway, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of the late James Rolland "Boots" Galloway, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Friends and family are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, April 14, 2023 in the Hopewell Baptist Church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Janice was born on May 13, 1933, daughter of the late Rexford Leroy Richter and Artimisha Eula Lee Curtis Richter. She grew up in downtown Charleston and worked as an executive secretary and in data entry for Johnson and Johnson Insurance company. She was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Galloway Mangum; granddaughters, Victoria Jackson (Taylor Jackson) and Lauren Berkos (Anthony Berkos, Jr.); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Lois and Jamie.
