Janet Rogers Ingle LAKE CITY - Mrs. Janet Rogers Ingle, 96, passed away peacefully Friday, August 19th, 2o11 in Mt. Pleasant after a long illness. Mrs. Ingle was born in Lake City on May 24th, 1915. She was a daughter of the late Charles Eustace Rodgers and the late Mayme Virginia McClam Rodgers and was the widow of the late Captain William Walter Ingle of Burlington, North Carolina. Mrs. Ingle was a long-time resident of Lake City and had been a resident of Mt. Pleasant for over ten years. She was fondly called "Sister" by her family and close friends. Mrs. Ingle was a long-time member of the Lake City First Baptist Church and attended Lake City High School and Queens College. She worked for RKO Studios, United Artists Studios and Winchester Surgical Supplies, all in Charlotte. Mrs. Ingle was a very independent lady. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting the east coast and traveled extensively in Europe. She had many close friends whom she loved dearly. She was a charming, friendly, and loving lady who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Ingle's surviving family includes her niece, Janet Hook Floyd (Howard), of Lake City; her two nephews, Dr. Charles Hook (Anne), of Mt. Pleasant, and Bob Hook, of Alexandria, Virginia; her four grand-nieces; one grand-nephew; six great-grand-nieces; and three great-grand-nephews. Mrs. Ingle is preceded in death by her two sisters, Jacqueline Rogers Hook (Fred) and Vivian Rogers; and her nephew, Bill Hook. Graveside services for Mrs. Ingle will be held at two-thirty p.m., Sunday, August 21st, 2011 in the Lake City Cemetery. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
