Janet Hunt Obituary

Janet Elaine Hunt, 68, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday afternoon, October 5, 2025. Born on June 30, 1957, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of Willie French Hunt and Vernette Moore Hunt. A devoted member of Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cordesville, Janet was known for her warm smile, playful sense of humor, and generous spirit. She cherished her role as a packaging clerk at Berkeley Industries and took pride in her work. Janet's love for music spanned generations, from timeless oldies to the latest hits. Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton held a special place in her heart. While she never had children of her own, Janet deeply loved her family, especially her nephew, whom she cared for as her own child. She treasured time spent camping, riding the golf cart with the kids, and relaxing at the beach at Rock's Pond Campground. Her love extended to her beloved pet dog, who was always by her side. Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Diane Hunt; two brothers, Jerry Humphries and Harold Humphries; and a special nephew, Marty Dangerfield. She is survived by her two sisters, Brenda Driggers and her fiancé Virgil Randolph of Macedonia, and Betty Jean Cunningham of Hamilton, MS; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply. A memorial service honoring Janet's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church, Cordesville, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in Janet's memory to Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1596 Hwy 402, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Janet's joyful laughter, caring nature, and love for her family and friends will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
